Privacy Policy
This policy describes the data handling of MEB Audit Drive, a private utility operated for the Middle East Brief news publication project. Contact: rafton9@gmail.com.
Data the application accesses
The utility reads published-news records from the operator’s own database, including headlines, article summaries or body text, editorial analysis, source references, publishing timestamps, and message identifiers. It creates JSON audit snapshots containing these fields.
When authorized with Google OAuth, the utility uses the https://www.googleapis.com/auth/drive.file scope to create, read, update, and manage only Google Drive files that it creates or that are explicitly made available to the application. It does not request unrestricted access to the rest of Google Drive.
How data is used
The data is used to preserve an export history and support editorial quality checks, including identifying potentially overlapping news posts or material updates. Google Drive content is not used for advertising, profiling, or commercial resale.
Storage and sharing
Audit exports are stored on the operator’s secured server and in the Google Drive account the operator authorizes. OAuth credentials and tokens are held on the server for access and renewal; this public website does not receive them. Files may be reviewed by the operator using services the operator explicitly connects or authorizes, including AI-assisted analysis tools. These integrations are separate actions controlled by the operator, and any such provider handles data under its applicable terms.
The application transmits data to Google Drive solely for authorized storage and file management. It does not sell or rent Google user data to third parties. Hosting infrastructure may process essential connection and security logs.
Retention and deletion
The operator controls the retention of exported JSON files and can delete them from the authorized Drive folder and local storage. The operator can revoke the application’s Google access at any time through Google Account settings. Revoking access prevents future authorized uploads but does not automatically delete existing exported files.
Security
Transmission to Google services uses encrypted HTTPS connections. Administrative access to the export server is restricted. No security measure can guarantee absolute security.
Website visitors
This is a static informational website; it has no account-registration form, analytics scripts, or application login. The hosting provider may process standard technical request logs.
Updates
This policy may be updated when the utility’s features or data practices change. The date at the top indicates the latest published revision.
